Programme Overview
Come on in, welcome to our show flats! Our apartments are commission-free, tax-free, and mortgage-free-and they’re not for sale. Led by artists of four different disciplines, students from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and City University of Hong Kong come together to create an interactive installation that interprets the spaces in Hong Kong. Inspired by the Sham Shui Po neighbour hood and Hong Kong’s housing estates, the installation makes use ofsound, light, and projection to construct three cramped apartments. It is a personal, psychological, and emotional experience that will make viewers rethink their understanding of space, as well as imagine the way people will live in the future. In this space-starved city, what sort of living space can we expect?
